RMA Payment Gateway · WooCommerce Plugin
WooCommerce plugin that drops the RMA Payment Gateway into any Bhutanese merchant's WordPress store — checkout, callback, and order reconciliation handled. Shipped since 2018, maintained and upgraded continuously.
The Challenge
Plenty of Bhutanese merchants run their store on WordPress and WooCommerce — it's the cheapest, most familiar way to put a shop online. The catch was payments. Accepting Nu. through the RMA Payment Gateway meant rolling a custom integration: a developer working through the gateway API, getting the callback flow right, handling failed and refunded orders, and keeping the whole thing in sync with WooCommerce's order lifecycle. For most small businesses, that was a wall.
What was missing was a drop-in: install a plugin, paste in the RMA credentials, sell.
The Approach
The plugin handles the full payment lifecycle inside WooCommerce: payment initiation at checkout, async callback handling, order status updates back to the merchant, and refund support from the WooCommerce admin. Configuration is a single settings page — merchant pastes their RMA credentials, picks the modes they want enabled, done.
Because it's a WordPress plugin, the surrounding world keeps moving: WooCommerce releases new versions, PHP runtimes deprecate features, the RMA Gateway API changes shape. We maintain the plugin continuously against all three. Existing customers get the upgrades; new customers get a plugin that just works against today's stack.
The Outcome
Shipped since 2018 and still shipping. Live in production on Bhutanese merchants selling internationally — Bio Bhutan, Taste of Bhutan, and others — accepting Nu. payments from their end-customers through their own WooCommerce stores. Distribution is direct from Cloud Bhutan; we install, configure, and support every deployment.
